I love sharing our allergy-friendly finds, and this one just climbed to the top of my list! It’s not an actual food item, but to me it’s even better. It’s a company called Raddish, and it’s a cooking club for kids!
When I first heard about Raddish, I assumed it was something we couldn’t use because of my son’s food allergies. But then I discovered that they have modifications to make their recipes allergy-friendly (for us), so I had to give it a try.
Each Box Has a Fun Theme!
I almost saved this box as a Christmas gift, but thankfully I saw an email that let me know it was a Halloween theme. Yesterday my kids made the “Boo-nana” Bread with the modifications to make it dairy, egg, and gluten-free, and let me just say it came out better than the recipe that I’ve sworn by for banana bread. Seriously.
Homeschool Cooking Lessons
I have already been incorporating some cooking lessons into our homeschooling, but this just adds a little extra something special to it. They send a cooking tool in each box, and you can upgrade to receive a tool for each child. They even provide lesson plans for homeschoolers!
What’s in the Box?
Raddish takes all of the guess work out of giving your kids a fun cooking lesson. They provide an ingredients list, recipe cards with easy to follow pictures for your kids, some fun facts that go along with the theme, and even a game or two! To get the ingredient swaps to modify the recipes for allergy needs, you just hop on the dietary modifications section of the website. Your kids get their own cooking tools which makes them feel like a real cook, as well as a cute patch that goes along with the box theme. It’s super simple, super fun for the kids, and super delicious for everyone!
